Manufacturer: Tripada Healthcare
Pharmaceutical name: Propranolol Hydrochloride
Pack: 10 pills (10 mg)
Beloc contains Propranolol, which is a beta-blocker that influences the heart and blood circulation. This medication is prescribed for tremors, hypertension, angina (chest pain), heart rhythm issues, and various circulatory problems. Additionally, Beloc may be used to prevent and treat heart attacks and to lessen the frequency and intensity of migraines.

Propranolol competes with neurotransmitters for binding at beta1 and beta2 receptors in the heart and blood vessels, resulting in a reduced heart rate, lower blood pressure, and decreased strain on the heart following a heart attack.

Beloc is not recommended for patients with the following medical conditions: bronchial asthma; COPD; untreated pheochromocytoma; sinus bradycardia; cardiogenic shock; second and third degree heart block; overt congestive heart failure (CHF); sick sinus syndrome; Raynaud’s syndrome; Prinzmetal’s angina; severe peripheral arterial disease; and metabolic acidosis.

The concurrent use of this medication with Thioridazine is also not recommended.

Before taking Beloc, patients must inform their healthcare provider of their complete medical history and any current health issues, such as muscle or nerve disorders, respiratory issues, diabetes, low blood pressure, heart failure, arrhythmias, mental health conditions, kidney disease, liver disease, thyroid disorders, pheochromocytoma, and blood circulation issues.

It is advisable to refrain from driving or engaging in activities that need alertness, as this medication can cause dizziness. Patients should rise slowly from sitting or lying positions to avoid dizziness and prevent falls.

This medication falls under Pregnancy Category C. Animal studies have indicated potential harm to the fetus, but there are insufficient studies involving pregnant women. It should only be used by pregnant women when clearly necessary and when potential benefits outweigh risks. The drug can transfer into breast milk and could be harmful to a nursing infant. It is essential for breastfeeding women to consult a physician before taking this medication.

This medication may interfere with laboratory tests and produce false positive results, such as in glaucoma screening tests or cardiovascular stress tests using arbutamine. Patients must inform their doctor or lab personnel that they are using this medication.
